    Camille, in your search for a copy of The Youth&#039;s Companion, have you tried the Library of Congress? You can actually do a search for &quot;George Washington Daniels&quot; and it will give you the exact articles with that name in it.  Saves tons of time!

    Hello, Chris.  I came upon your blog doing research on the Pledge of Allegiance. I wrote a book on the history of the Pledge, and as you likely know, The Youth&#039;s Companion is where the Pledge of Allegiance was first published (Sept., 1892). It was part of a huge nationwide celebration on the 400th discovery of America. The library at the University of Mississippi has one of the most complete collections of the Youth&#039;s Companions in the country. At any rate, I thought you might be interested.  This is a very interesting and informative site. Thanks for doing it.

1732-1897.  love to read as it is a full year of 1896.  Alot of history but love the full page cover of G.Washington
