I would guess that Sabbath School would be the same as Sunday School, but the religious instruction would be given on whatever day the prison chaplain was able to come to the prison. Thank you for sharing your wonderful Youth’s Companion collection.
Oh, sorry for not re-reading the title and seeing that children are also attending Sabbath School. I’m still guessing that it’s another name for Sunday School.
